Montréal Alouettes won the 110th Grey Cup

The 110th Grey Cup was played on November 19, 2023, at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario. The 2023 Canadian Football League (CFL) Champion was decided through the Grey Cup Championship. The game was between the West Division Champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the East Division Champion Montreal Alouettes.

The Alouettes defeated the Blue Bombers, 28–24. It was the 12th time that Hamilton had hosted the Grey Cup, the previous having been in 2021.

Tyson Philpot, the wide receiver, was honoured as the Most Valuable Canadian of the 110th Grey Cup. He contributed significantly to the team’s eight-game winning streak, finishing the game with six catches for 63 yards.

Quarterback Cody Fajardo was honoured as the Most Valuable Player of the 110th Grey Cup. Fajardo concluded with 290 yards, completing 21 out of 26 passes, including three touchdown throws and just one interception. He orchestrated a game-winning drive in the final three minutes, seizing the lead with only 12 seconds remaining on the clock.

Green Day played for a sold-out crowd of 28,808 fans in the Twisted Tea Grey Cup Halftime Show.

  • 1974: THE THIRD GREY CUP
      On November 24, 1974, the Alouettes won against the Edmonton Eskimos with a 20-7 win over the Edmonton Eskimos in Vancouver’s Empire Stadium. The 62nd Grey Cup had 34,450 fans gathered for the Championship.
  • 1977: THE FOURTH GREY CUP
      Alouettes played in three consecutive Grey Cup finals (1977, 1978, 1979), winning on November 27, 1977 against the Edmonton Eskimos 41–6 at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium. The 65th Grey Cup had 68,205 fans gathered for the Championship.
  • 2002: THE FIFTH GREY CUP
      On November 24, 2002, the Alouettes won their fifth Grey Cup, and their first in 25 years, by defeating the Edmonton Eskimos 25-16 at the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. The 90th Grey Cup had 62,531 fans gathered for the Championship.
  • 2009: THE SIXTH GREY CUP
      The Alouettes reached the Grey Cup four times between their last win in 2002 and 2009, but lost each time. In 2009, however, the time had come to return to the top of the league. On November 29, 2009, the Alouettes locked up the Gray Cup title with one of the biggest comebacks in championship history. Winning 28-27 over the Saskatchewan Roughriders Calgary’s McMahon Stadium. The 97th Grey Cup had 46,020 fans gathered for the Championship.

      For the second straight year, the Alouettes engraved their name on the Grey Cup, this has not been seen for more than 10 years in the CFL. On November 28, 2010, the Alouettes won 21–18 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium. The 98th Grey Cup had 63,317 fans gathered for the Championship.
