2024 CHC Gala and Awards night

July 15, 2024 — Canada Hoops Circuit has chosen to collaborate with Baron® Championship Rings to present the 2024 Canada Hoops Circuit Gala and Awards Night. All coaches were encouraged to submit their nominations by Tuesday, June 18th. The Canada Hoops Circuit’s Awards Night took place on Friday, July 12th at St. Mary’s University’s McGivney Hall.

Fr. Michael J. McGivney Hall has a seating capacity of 273, can accommodate 150 for banquets, and can hold up to 350 people standing.

  • 8:25 PM to 9:30 PM Awards Ceremony

2024 Canada Hoops Circuit Gala and Awards Night: Awards

Let’s review the various awards offered by the Canada Hoops Circuit, including the Community Service Award, Leadership Award, Academic Award, and National Player of the Year Award.

Award #1

Community Service Award – awarded to 1 male & 1 female student-athlete who demonstrates a passion for their local community and is impacting it in a positive capacity.

Student-Athlete Criteria

  • Must demonstrate a passion for their local community
  • Must be impacting their community in a positive capacity (Example: volunteering, religious place of worship, hospital(s), school(s), etc.)

Award #2

Leadership Award – awarded to 1 male & 1 female student-athlete who is a leader within their school, community and/or club program. They demonstrate leadership qualities by living and carrying out the policies, mandates and mission of their respective schools and/or club programs.

Student-Athlete Criteria

  • Must be a leader within their school, community and/or club program
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities by living and carrying out the policies, mandates and mission of their school and/or program

Award #3

Academic Award – awarded to 1 male & 1 female student-athlete who is both studious and diligent in the classroom and possesses the highest cumulative GPA (%) within their club team.

Student-Athlete Criteria

  • Studious and diligent with their schoolwork
  • In good standing academically within their school/school community
    possesses the highest cumulative GPA (%) within their club

Award #4

National Player of the Year Award – awarded to 1 male & 1 female student-athlete who exemplifies sportsmanship, perseverance, hard work and on-court skills well above their peers. They also contribute to the overall framework and role of their team; demonstrating teamwork, athletic achievement and coachability.

Student-Athlete Criteria

  • Exemplary sportsmanship, hard work, perseverance, integrity and on-court skills well above their peers
  • Contributes to the overall framework and role of their team; demonstrating teamwork, athletic achievement and coachability
