September 8, 2025 — On April 5, 2025, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced the Class of 2025 inductees. The Enshrinement festivities on September 5-6, 2025, celebrated this exceptional group.

2008 US Olympic Men’s Basketball Team

Player

The 2008 United States Men’s Olympic Basketball Team, known as the “Redeem Team,” marked a triumphant return to global basketball supremacy. The team was guided by Managing Director Jerry Colangelo and legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski.

After a disappointing bronze finish in 2004, Colangelo revitalized the program with unwavering commitment from NBA stars.

Carmelo Anthony built his legacy as one of the best scorers in NBA history during his 19-year career from 2003 to 2022.

• Led Syracuse University to its first NCAA championship in 2003.
• Earned Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors
• Drafted third overall by the Denver Nuggets

• Averaged 22.5 points per game
• Ranks 10th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with 28,289 points

Danny Crawford

Referee

• He worked over 2,000 regular-season games, 300 playoff games, and an impressive 30 NBA Finals matchups, including 23 straight Finals appearances.
• Known for his consistency and professionalism, Crawford officiated some of basketball’s most historic moments, from the 1992 Dream
• Team’s first Olympic game to multiple NBA All-Star Games.

Billy Donovan

Coach

Billy Donovan is a celebrated coach whose career spans both college basketball and the NBA.

• During his tenure at the University of Florida (1996–2015), he transformed the Gators into a powerhouse, winning Back-To-Back NCAA Championships in 2006 and 2007, reaching four Final Fours, and amassing over 500 career victories at Florida and Marshall.
• A former standout point guard at Providence College under Rick Pitino, Donovan was a three-time SEC Coach of the Year and was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016.
• Transitioning to the NBA, he has earned over 400 wins as head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder (2015–2020) and the Chicago Bulls (2020–present).

Dwight Howard

Player

Dwight Howard, nicknamed “Superman,” was one of the most dominant big men of his era during an 18-year NBA career.

• The first overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, Howard became an eight-time All-Star, three-time Defensive Player of the Year (2009–2011), and earned eight All-NBA selections.
• He led the league in rebounds five times and blocks twice, finishing his career ranked 10th all-time in rebounds (14,627) and 13th in blocks (2,228).
• Howard guided the Orlando Magic to the 2009 NBA Finals and later captured an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020. On the international stage, he added an Olympic gold medal in 2008 with Team USA.

Sue Bird

Player

Sue Bird is celebrated as one of the greatest point guards in basketball history, with a legendary 21-season career (2002–2022) with the Seattle Storm.

• A four-time WNBA champion and record 13-time All-Star, she was honored among the league’s W25 greatest players in 2021.
• Bird is the WNBA’s all-time leader in wins (333), games played (580), assists (3,234), and minutes (18,079), while also earning five All-WNBA First-Team selections.
• On the international stage, she captured five Olympic gold medals and five FIBA World Cup medals with Team USA.
• Before her pro career, Bird starred at UConn, where she led the Huskies to two NCAA Championships (2000, 2002), won the Naismith Player of the Year (2002), and was selected first overall in the 2002 WNBA Draft.

Sylvia Fowles

Player

Sylvia Fowles is one of the most dominant centers in WNBA history, retiring as the league’s all-time leading rebounder (4,006).

• A two-time WNBA champion (2015, 2017) with the Minnesota Lynx, she earned Finals MVP honors in both title runs and was named WNBA MVP in 2017.
• Over her 15-year career, Fowles was an eight-time All-Star, four-time Defensive Player of the Year, and a member of the WNBA’s W25 greatest players.
• Internationally, she captured four Olympic gold medals with Team USA.
• Drafted second overall in 2008 after leading LSU to four straight Final Four appearances, Fowles had her iconic No. 34 jersey retired by both LSU and the Lynx, cementing her legacy as a game-changing force.

Maya Moore

Player

Maya Moore is one of the most accomplished players in women’s basketball history, leading the Minnesota Lynx to four WNBA championships (2011, 2013, 2015, 2017) during her seven-season career (2011–2018).

• A six-time All-Star, she was named WNBA MVP in 2014, Finals MVP in 2013, and earned five All-WNBA First Team selections.
• Honored as one of the WNBA’s 25 greatest players, Moore also excelled internationally, winning two Olympic gold medals (2012, 2016) and two FIBA World Cup titles (2014, 2018) with Team USA.
• The first overall pick in the 2011 WNBA Draft, she starred at UConn, capturing two NCAA championships, two Naismith Player of the Year awards, and leading the Huskies to back-to-back undefeated seasons.

Micky Arison, owner of the Miami Heat since 1995, has built one of the NBA’s most successful and respected franchises.

• Under his leadership, the Heat have captured three NBA Championships (2006, 2012, 2013) and seven Eastern Conference titles, showcasing legendary players such as Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Alonzo Mourning, Shaquille O’Neal, and Ray Allen.
• Alongside team president Pat Riley and head coach Erik Spoelstra, Arison has fostered a culture of stability, excellence, and long-term success.
