The road to the first-ever Women’s Pro Baseball League (WPBL) Championship officially begins tonight as all four teams prepare to battle in the historic inaugural postseason. The postseason opens with two best-of-three semifinal series, where the first teams to secure two wins will advance. The winners will meet for a best-of-five WPBL Championship series, needing three wins to claim the historic first title.

Series A: No. 1 San Francisco Firebells vs. No. 4 Boston Hunters
The regular-season Champion Firebells enter the postseason as the top seed. Just before first pitch of the final regular-season game of the WPBL season on Sunday September 6th, the Firebells were presented with a regular-season Champions pennant. As the home team for Game 1 on Wednesday, September 9th at 6:00 p.m. CT, they face a hungry Boston Hunters squad looking to pull off the upset.

Series B: No. 2 New York Heights vs. No. 3 Los Angeles Queens
In what promises to be a closely contested matchup, the two most equally matched teams in the league will square off when the Heights and Queens open their series on Thursday, September 10th at 6:00 p.m. CT.

The Women’s Pro Baseball League (WPBL) is the only professional women’s baseball league in the United States.
