The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the team performed in front of everyone one last time before the upcoming competition. As a result, the team has achieved back-to-back Championships in the nation’s most prestigious Cheer competition in 2025.

The Oak Ridge Cheer team has also achieved success in winning the 2026 Cheer Invitational.

What excites you most about working in the high school market, and what keeps it challenging year after year?

Tyler: High school sports are all about energy, passion, and stories waiting to be told, and I get a front-row seat. The challenge? Every year brings new schedules, budgets, and personalities. Along with the occasional “RUSH” orders that we have to deal with.

Thankfully, we have such a good team behind me to make sure everything gets done smoothly and professionally.

Can you recall a memorable high school championship moment that really stuck with you?

Tyler: While I don’t have a single Championship moment tattooed in my memory, I’ve always been drawn to the upsets.

The underdogs that nobody saw coming. There’s something magical about a team defying the odds, and it’s a reminder that sports aren’t just about stats; they’re about heart.

How do you approach building trust with schools and athletic directors, especially in competitive markets?

Tyler: Honestly, it’s about being human and making everyone feel comfortable. I show up consistently, communicate honestly, and don’t shy away from a little playful sarcasm or humour when it fits.

Additionally, responding to emails faster than Rory McIlroy’s ball speed never hurts!
