What’s the most memorable client story you’ve heard about receiving their Championship Ring?

Ethan: Kay and I recently helped a young man named Andy when he unfortunately had his Toronto Raptors items stolen from him. Andy is a die-hard Raptors fan, and although we were able to replace the items for him, it was his story and connection that moved me.

Andy has a disability and felt that this disability factored into his items being stolen from him, as if he were being taken advantage of.

Despite all the bumps in the road that are presented to him, Andy still shows incredible manners and kindness, and those are the types of people whom I take pride in working with and helping out.

If you could deliver rings to any sports team or Championship event—past or present—who would it be and why?

Ethan: I would love to have been able to deliver Championship Rings to the 2010 Canadian Olympic Hockey team. When they won the gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Games, I was 13 years old and idolized all of the players.

To have the honour of presenting them with an Olympic Hockey Championship Ring would have meant the world to me as a thank you for what they did for our country at that time.

What’s one question about the rings themselves that clients always seem to ask you, and how do you love to answer it?

Ethan: Far and away, the number one question I am asked is “How much are your rings?”. Despite the frequency of the question, it is also my favourite to answer.

Everyone asks this question for different reasons, but it allows me to explain the vast range of items we are able to offer to our customers.

What’s the most rewarding part of working at Baron®, especially when it comes to supporting teams and athletes?

Ethan: The most rewarding part of working with these teams and athletes is hearing their story and what led to the Championship Ring.

As an athlete and coach myself, I understand what it takes to reach the top of the mountain, and every story is so different.

Being able to capture the memories that come with our Championship Rings makes us feel like a small part of all of these unique stories.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give a new member at Baron® to help them succeed in building strong client relationships?

Ethan: My piece of advice applies to both our work environment and life itself, and it is to value the importance of listening.

Our society is losing core communication and time management skills, which allows important details and stories to fall through the cracks.

Allowing a client to speak their mind and voice their opinion allows us to better understand what they are looking for, so that we are better prepared to meet their needs.
