Celebrating the 2025 Hockey Hall of Fame Class: Honoured Members and Their Custom Hall of Fame Rings
November 11, 2025, TORONTO, ON — Ron Francis, Chair of the Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee, announced on June 24, 2025, that eight individuals have been elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in the Player and Builder categories.
“The Hockey Hall of Fame is delighted to induct these legendary hockey players as Honoured Members,” stated Francis. “Their impact on the sport of hockey is well recognized, and their selection for the Hockey Hall of Fame is truly warranted.”
The 2025 Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration took place on Monday, November 10, in Toronto. The festivities included the highly anticipated annual “Hockey Hall of Fame Game,” hosted by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Jack Parker

Jack Parker’s remarkable 40-year tenure as head coach of the Boston University Terriers stands as one of the most successful coaching careers in college hockey history.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, Parker first made his mark as a player for the Terriers from 1965–1968, serving as captain and leading his team to multiple Beanpot titles and NCAA appearances.
- After returning to Boston University as an assistant coach, he guided the Terriers to Back-To-Back National Championships in 1971 and 1972 before taking over as head coach in 1973.
- Under his leadership, BU became a powerhouse by capturing three NCAA titles, seven Hockey East Championships, and an astounding 21 Beanpot victories.
- Parker earned three Spencer Penrose Awards as NCAA Coach of the Year and five Hockey East Coach of the Year honours
- Jack Parker retired in 2013 with a total of 897 career wins, ranking him third all-time in NCAA history.

Danièle Sauvageau

Danièle Sauvageau’s trailblazing career has made her one of the most influential figures in women’s hockey. Born in Montreal, Quebec, she began coaching at just 17 and quickly rose through the ranks, leading teams in Quebec’s regional leagues before joining Team Canada.
Sauvageau’s leadership helped shape the foundation of women’s international hockey.
- She served behind the bench for six Olympic Games and was instrumental in seven consecutive IIHF Women’s World Championship victories.
- As Head Coach of Team Canada, she guided the national team to Olympic gold in 2002 and multiple world titles.
- Beyond her coaching success, she became the first female coach in the QMJHL, founded the University of Montreal Carabins Women’s Hockey program, and later took on an executive role as General Manager of the PWHL’s Montreal Victoire.
- Her many achievements include induction into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame, being appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada, and receiving numerous national coaching awards.

Jennifer Botterill is one of the most decorated players in women’s hockey history, inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2025. Born May 1, 1979, in Ottawa (raised in Winnipeg), Jennifer came from an elite sporting family.
- Botterill’s Harvard University scores feature 340 career points (157 goals, 183 assists) in 113 games
- Four-time First Team All-ECAC and First Team All-American
- AWCHA Championship winner (1998-99) and Team captain (2000-01, 2002-03)
- Won 3 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal in four Olympic Games. Earned 5 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals in eight World Championships.
- CEO and President of Excel In Life Inc. and Journey To Excel Inc.; Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame inductee (2017), Harvard Varsity Club Hall of Fame inductee (2018), and Manitoba Female Athlete of the Year (2001).

Zdeno Chara

Standing at 6’8″, Zdeno Chara used his unmatched combination of size, skill, and intelligence to become one of the most dominant defencemen in NHL history. Born in Trencin, Slovakia, Chara was drafted by the New York Islanders in 1996 and made his NHL debut in 1997-98 after excelling in both Europe and the AHL.
- His career reached new heights after joining the Ottawa Senators, where he became a top-tier blueliner and a Norris Trophy finalist in 2004.
- In 2006, Chara signed with the Boston Bruins, where he captained the team for 14 seasons, leading them to three Stanley Cup Final appearances and capturing the Stanley Cup in 2011.
- Throughout his 24 NHL seasons, Chara played 1,680 regular-season games, scoring 209 goals and 471 assists.
- Internationally, Chara captained Team Slovakia at multiple Olympics and World Championships, earning two IIHF silver medals and induction into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2025.

Brianna Decker
Player
Brianna Decker’s career is a defining example of excellence, leadership, and lasting impact in women’s hockey. Born in Dousman, Wisconsin, she rose from local youth programs to national prominence, first starring at Shattuck-St. Mary’s, where she led her team to three U.S. national titles.
At the University of Wisconsin, Decker became one of the school’s greatest players. Setting records for scoring streaks, game-winning goals, and plus/minus.
- She was a three-time All-American, 2012 WCHA Player of the Year, and team captain, finishing her college career ranked among the top scorers in Badgers history.
- Representing Team USA, Decker captured one Olympic gold medal (2018), two silvers (2014, 2022), and six IIHF World Championship golds. At the 2017 World Championship, she was named Most Valuable Player, Best Forward, and led the tournament in scoring.
- Professionally, she excelled in both the CWHL and NWHL, earning Rookie of the Year, MVP, and multiple championships — including the Clarkson Cup and Isobel Cup.
- After retiring, Decker turned to coaching, mentoring future stars as Associate Head Coach at Shattuck-St. Mary’s.

Duncan Keith

Duncan Keith was one of the premier defencemen of his era, known for his skill, leadership, and durability. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he developed his game in minor hockey and the BCHL before briefly playing at Michigan State University and then joining the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets, winning the President’s Cup in 2003.
- He won three Stanley Cups (2010, 2013, 2015), earning the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2015 after scoring the Cup-winning goal
- Keith also won the James Norris Memorial Trophy twice (2010, 2014) and was named to the NHL First All-Star Team twice and Second Team once, playing in four All-Star Games.
- After a final season with the Edmonton Oilers, he retired in 2022 with 1,256 NHL games, 646 points, and a reputation as one of the league’s most reliable and impactful defencemen.
- Internationally, Keith represented Team Canada, winning Olympic gold in 2010 and 2014, a World Championship silver in 2008, and a Bronze at the 2000 U-17 World Tournament.

Alexander Mogilny

Alex Mogilny combined explosive speed with exceptional playmaking to become one of the NHL’s premier forwards in the 1990s and 2000s. Born in Khabarovsk, USSR, he began his career with CSKA Moscow. In 1989, he defected to the United States to join the Buffalo Sabres. He made an immediate impact with record-setting performances. This included a 76-goal season in 1992-93, which was the most ever by a Soviet/Russian player in the NHL at that time.
- Mogilny played for Buffalo, Vancouver, New Jersey, and Toronto, winning the Stanley Cup with New Jersey in 2000, capturing the Lady Byng Trophy in 2003, and being named to multiple NHL All-Star Teams.
- He ended his career with 990 NHL games, recording 473 goals, 559 assists, and 1,032 points.
- Internationally, Mogilny earned Olympic gold in 1988, a World Championship gold in 1989, and represented Russia in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, becoming a member of the Triple Gold Club.
- Honoured throughout his career, Mogilny was inducted into the Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame (2011) and the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame (2016).

Joe Thornton

Joe Thornton, nicknamed “Jumbo Joe,” was one of the NHL’s premier centres, renowned for his exceptional playmaking and leadership over a 24-season career. Born in London, Ontario, Thornton rose through youth and junior hockey, excelling with the St. Thomas Stars and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, earning multiple rookie and all-star honours before being drafted 1st overall by the Boston Bruins in 1997.
- Thornton played eight seasons in Boston, serving as captain and leading the team in scoring multiple times.
- With the San Jose Sharks in 2005, he won the Art Ross Trophy and Hart Trophy.
- Over 15 seasons with San Jose, Thornton led the team in scoring eight times, reached the 2016 Stanley Cup Final, and earned multiple All-Star and league honours.
- Thornton finished his NHL career with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers. He retired in 2023 after playing 1,714 games. During his career, he scored 430 goals and recorded 1,109 assists, totalling 1,539 points. Thornton ranks among the league’s all-time leaders in points, assists, and games played.
- Honours include the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame, jersey retirements by Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and San Jose Sharks, and recognition on the NHL Quarter Century Team.
