Behind the Scenes: Q&A Session With Baron’s Q&A Session With Baron’s Director Of Collegiate Sales Paul LaMantia.

April 30, 2024 – Welcome to an exclusive Q&A session with Baron’s Director Of Collegiate Sales Paul LaMantia!

Delve into this compelling interview with Paul LaMantia, Director of Collegiate Sales at Baron® Championship Rings. We’ll explore Mr. LaMantia’s journey to Baron®, which commenced with a fortuitous encounter with Drina and Peter, the proprietors, approximately ten years ago.

Paul’s origins in baseball, marked by a significant National Championship victory in 2007 with the Windsor Selects, intersect with his professional path, where he managed a semi-professional baseball career alongside his early tenure at Baron®.

Reflecting on his time as an athlete at Wayne State University, Paul emphasizes the invaluable lessons of discipline and routine instilled during his tenure, echoing Coach Kelley’s mantra and emphasizing the importance of balance in all aspects of life.

Paul LaMantia’s story showcases Baron®‘s core values of skill, honesty, and deep respect for sports accomplishments. Also, connecting with people and representing the spirit of excellence quality of Baron® Championship Rings.

How did you get started at Baron® Championship Rings?

10 Years ago I was approached by our current Owners Drina and Peter about a sales position that was opening up with their company. I grew up playing youth travel baseball for Drina’s husband Mike Zinyk and the Windsor Selects.

We won a National Championship in 2007.

At the time, I was still playing baseball semi-professionally with the London Majors in the IBL. They allowed me to work from London while I was playing and report back to the office once a week as I was getting my feet wet.

Can you give us a little back story to your time as an Athlete at Wayne State University and how that has contributed to your success at Baron®?

Playing baseball at Wayne State University taught me discipline and routine. Waking up for 6 am lifts/swims etc and being on time was absolutely mandatory. Learning that putting in the required amount of work to achieve my goals and seeing that reward are forever ingrained in me every day.

Put the work in. Reap the reward. Work hard, play hard.

Coach Kelley had a saying that he pounded into us.

“Direct Core Relation”

What he meant by that is that everything in your life is connected. You have to pour everything you have into each portion of your life equally or ultimately something will be out of rhythm and out of balance. Balance is key.

Describe your Sales style and how you approach clients?

I like to ensure that I establish a level of trust in my clients and prefer to do this via showing rather than telling. It’s my belief that Baron® has the best product in the world.

It’s my job to show my clients this through my hard work.

When they begin to recognize the work – we now have a symbiotic relationship and it becomes easier to communicate on both sides.

Getting them information and designs in a timely manner and giving them the entire Baron® Experience is my main goal every day.

This is made easy because we have such an incredible team here at Baron® to support that effort.

As a dad, what memorable moment at Baron® will you share with your kids in the future?

As a Dad my world has completely changed, and thanks to the unwavering support of my wife Ivana.

I find myself thinking more about the future now and what legacy I leave behind for my children.

It would be easy to tell them about the time we lived in a hotel for 2 weeks when we were working on the Cleveland Cavaliers deal and meeting LeBron James.

With that said, I think I will be more excited to point to the ring that my friend (our Production Manager) Mike Zinyk gave to my son Whit and tell him about the smile it put on his 2-year-old face – the symbolism of what that Championship Ring means and how we are blessed to be apart of this amazing story and family called Baron® Championship Rings.

Do you have a favourite Championship Ring that Baron® has created?

With Baseball being such a big part of your life, can you tell us who you would “ink” in your starting lineup from past or current players and from any team? Your Dream Squad basically.

  1. Derek Jeter SS
  2. Mike Trout CF
  3. Gary Sheffield RF
  4. Miguel Cabrera 1B
  5. Manny Ramirez LF
  6. JD Martinez DH
  7. Dustin Pedroia 2B
  8. Chipper Jones 3B
  9. Ivan Rodriguez C
  10. Justin Verlander P
